The trainees mainly belong to various remote and tribal districts of Maharashtra like Nagpur, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Gondia, Washim, Yavatmal etc. All of the trainees are 12th Passed and some are under-graduate/ graduate, Post graduate. Basically they hail from lower middle class and farmer families. They are aptly trained to handle different crime as well as law and order situations across all sectors of the society.
During the nine months basic training of newly recruited women police constables they are trained in outdoor training curriculum, physical exercises such as running, P.T., obstacles, weapon tactics, march pass and ceremonial parades. They are also trained in conventional police subjects like Firing at various ranges using different weapons, Mob Dispersal, Patrolling, Close Combat fight, Jungle training and various other duties of police constable which are to be performed on field.
